Hey everyone, my name is Angelo Braam, and I will be filling the post of Treasurer for academic year of 2018-2019. Which means I will be the one in charge of the association´s bank account. After my first year of my Bsc development studies, which I very much enjoyed, I thought it would be fun to get more involved in the study association and with my fellow students. That made me decide to become a board member of Ipso Facto to get to know even more people from all years of our studies and to take on this fun job of course.
I would describe myself as a curious and positive person who likes to have people around him most of the time. My passions include travelling, playing music and cooking (incredibly spicy foods among them). Being years older than my average fellow student might raise some questions, well that's because I decided not too long ago, at the age of 23 that it might be a good idea to start a university career. The five years before that have mainly been dedicated to travelling, which might have changed me as a person and gave me a much broader cultural interest and humanistic approach which have ultimately led me to start studying development studies. A big part of these years have been spent in the Middle-East, which became my favourite travelling destination since then. The warm-bloodedness of its people and the huge complicated diversity of the whole region made it a region where I will be coming back again and again, and perhaps where I could find myself working after my studies. I will always be happy sharing stories about these experiences.
Wageningen has been my place of residence since starting my studies and I started to love the place more than I would ever have expected beforehand. Living in a very cosy house in Droevendaal with a friendly vibe over the whole area, and with a lot of music sessions around I felt at home from day one. This year´s opportunity to be a treasurer will be something quite different from other things I have done before, but I am always excited about new things which is why I am very much looking forward to the upcoming academic year!
